Artists of all disciplines and experience levels, making art on location throughout historic and beautiful Buffalo, New York.

Urban Sketchers is an international organization, founded in Washington State, now with chapters around the world. Buffalonians have started this local chapter to draw, paint, photograph and otherwise document Buffalo's unique architecture, scenery and history.

 

Urban Sketchers (parent organization) mission statement: "To raise the artistic, storytelling and educational value of on-location drawing, promoting its practice and connecting people around the world who draw on location where they live and travel."

 

Urban Sketchers Manifesto: - We document places on location, indoors or out, capturing what we see from direct observation. - Our art tells the story of our surroundings, the places we live and where we travel. - Our art is a record of time and place. - We are truthful to the scenes we witness. - We use any kind of media and cherish our individual styles. - We support each other and make art together. - We share our art online. - We show the world, one drawing at a time.
